The Wormer, Wormer. The Wijde Wormer was created by the dry grinding of the Wormermeer in 1626. The polder was not as fertile as that of the previously mined Beemster, which consisted of clay soil while the Wijdewormer consisted of peat soil which is only suitable for cattle breeding / pasture. .© 20 juni 2018 Marco van Middelkoop/Aerophoto-Schiphol
