Bussum is a village in the Gooi region and until the coming of the Amsterdam - Amersfoort railroad was a little picture with about 1,200 inhabitants, after the arrival of the spur line many wealthy Amsterdammers settled in Bussum and thanks to the necessary facilities Bussum grew rapidly to 18,000 inhabitants in 1918.
