Het Zwin, Zeeuws Vlaanderen, Zwin was an estuary that made Bruges accessible to seagoing ships, silting up made Bruuge inaccessible and constructed outer harbours of which Sluis was the last before Antwerp emerged as a port city in the 15th century.
