Brouwers Dam, Lake Grevelingen (Grevelingenmeer)(top) and North Sea (bottom), Delta Works, Zeeland, The Netherlands
The Brouwersdam is created by constructing sand dams on two banks in the Brouwerhavense Gat and by using sluice caissons. It was competed in 1971 creating the Grevelingenmeer (Lake Grevelingen). In 1981 the Brouwers sluice was built in the dam to allow water from the North Sea to enter and change the Grevelingenmeer from a freshwater into a saltwater lake. © 15 aug 2016 Marco van Middelkoop/Aerophoto-Schiphol
