Budel-Dorplein Zinc plant Nyrstar with Loozerheide nature reserve above, aerial view

Budel-Dorplein was created and built for the workers of the zinc factory of the Walloon family of manufacturers Dor in the late 19th century. The village, a workers' colony, depended on zinc factory for everything, only becoming a normal village in the 1960s. The architectural style of the village is Walloon.
