The Tloi Eechii cliffs at Ward Terrace, erosional landscape 20 km east of Gray Mountain, Painted Desert, Navajo Nation, Arizona, USA.
Tloi Eechii cliffs at Ward Terrace in the Painted Desert 20 km east of Grey Mountain in the Horizon we see the Moenkopi Plateau. The Painted Desert is composed of stratified layers of easily erodible siltstone, mudstone, and shale of the Triassic Chinle Formation. The rock layers contain abundant iron and manganese compounds which provide the pigments for the beautiful colors of the region.
