Oosterschelde, Galgeplaat looking in the direction of the Zeelandbrug bridge. In 2008, an experiment was carried out to restore the disturbed balance between sedimentation and erosion since the construction of the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier. In a ring dike with a diameter of 450 metres, 130,000 cubic metres of sand was injected, after completion the ring dike was removed and the sand was slowly dispersed in a natural way without clouding the water, which occurs during normal sedimentation..© 27 mei 2020 Aerophoto-Schiphol
