Griend is a vegetated sandbank in the Wadden Sea south of Terschelling. In the Middle Ages, Griend was a larger island with a settlement and a monastery. Due to coastal erosion the island became smaller and smaller until the last cattle farmers left the island in the 18th century..© 30 juni 2018 Marco van Middelkoop/Aerophoto-Schiphol
