The Nieuwlandsreid is a salt marsh area between the Kooiduinen and the Oerd. Since 1893 it has been protected on the North Sea side by the Kooioerd sand drift dike. On the Wadden Sea side it is only separated from the Wadden Sea by a summer quay. The Nieuwlandsreid is still in common ownership, as it used to be for all wild (outer dike) grounds. .© 1 juli 2018 Marco van Middelkoop/Aerophoto-Schiphol
